Larissa says she's ready to change
| Black Press Radio, Charm School Reunion Show recap, DC Livers, Larissa Aurora | 39 comments »
(BlackPressMagazine.com) - Just 48 hours after the Charm School Reunion show aired, Larissa "Bootz" Hodge Aurora says she's had enough - of herself.
Bootz, who gained international celebrity status when she appeared on VH1's "Flavor of Love2" starring former rap star Flavor Flav, angered many with her appearance on the spin-off show,"Charm School." But, it was her "performance" on the Charm School Reunion on July 9 that caused fed-up Americans to speak out against the otherwise beautiful star.
Now Bootz says she's ready to change.
In a bulletin sent to Black Press Magazine and other friends of Bootz on MySpace dated July 10 and time stamped at 6:42 p.m., Larissa says she's "...not a Bitch no more!"
The starlet goes on to say, "I am a new and improved Larissa. I noticed that walking about being a bitch to everybody ain't bringing me nowhere so I'ma change and stop being a bitch", said Bootz.
So what made the hard-nosed star change her mind? Ironically, Larissa says seeing herself on TV made her realize that it was time for a change.
"I've been watching Charm School on my own time and I'm always picking on somebody and being a Bully! This 'motha-fucka' has changed into being a nice little angel, lol. Thanks to Mo' who talked with me this morning and told me to give it a shot."
But if you think you the "new and improved" Bootz will be a push over, you'd better think again.
"If someone is trying to betray me or start something I will get back into being a Bitch and tell you off, mad quick. Just like I told off Leilene at the Club. That's just an example of how it will be. But I'ma be a nice and sweet Larissa. I luv y'all," she said.
Some may not believe that Bootz can change but many people are pulling for her.
"I really couldn't stand her character on TV," said DC Livers, managing editor for Black Press Magazine who interviewed Bootz on BlackPressRadio.com. "I was really nervous about interviewing her for fear we'd have an exchange like she and Mo'Nique did on the Charm School Reunion. But she came across as someone who's been hurt a lot, had to fight a lot for a lot of things and in the end I was hopeful that she had gotten a bad rap on the show and was committed to changing," said Livers.
"The Charm School Reunion was a gigantic disappointment to me because I really put myself on the line by interviewing the [Charm School] girls, but seeing this posting restores my hope that Bootz will be able to change her life. She's clearly talented so I truly hope that she'll find a way to accept her position as a role model and show the world the Larissa that we never got to see on TV."
Fans reacted strongly for and against Larissa's behavior and offered words of advice to the star during a special podcast interview with BlackPressRadio.com recapping the reunion. To hear the fan reactions, visit http://www.blackpressradio.com and search keyword: "Bootz" or "Larissa."

I love New York's Rico speaks to Black Press Magazine
| Black Press Radio, Contestant interviews, DC Livers, Rico | 31 comments »
As we reported, exclusively; Rico missed the Reunion Show because he was incarcerated on a charge for driving while licensed revoked.
Subsequently, in her final article for The Blogspot, Quanda made the argument that he was forced into breaking the law because his father was experiencing chest pains at the time (Rico's dad suffered a heart-attack recently)
I can understand that...maybe he could have placed a call but I would probably have done the same. And in fact I have been arrested for the same charge.
That said, Rico agreed to be interviewed by DC Livers at BlackPressRadio.com and he addresses that issue and his experience on 'I Love New York'.

Mr Boston interview on Black Press Radio
| Black Press Radio, DC Livers, Mr. Boston interview | 232 comments »
DC Livers of Black Press Radio spoke to Mr. Boston about his time on I love New York and life after the hit television series.
DC Livers is so charming during her interviews. I really need to meet her, or see her, or have a baby with her or something.
It's the best interview I've ever heard with Mr Boston (of course the best I've read was Quanda's interview) and we learn:
- the relationship between Mr Boston and Pumkin is over
Pumkin is into threesomes- Pumkin knows what she's doing in bed
- Mr Boston has a "mild case of OCD"
- Mr Boston is seeing a hypnotist to help him stop picking his nose
- Mr Boston is well endowed
- New York gave Whiteboy her number
Whiteboy got punched out the night before the Reunion Show
(to access the interview, click 'Let me Enter'; and it's the podcast titled "Mr Boston: New York should have chosen me, bring it on Chance")
Correction: Mr Boston said there was a rumor circulating that Whiteboy got punched in his face before the Reunion Show. And, he said, if the lesbian rumors were true, Pumkin may be into threesomes.
We apologize for misleading anyone.
That said, there is enough evidence to aver Pumkin has had relationships with women and Whiteboy's face always looks like he got beat with an ugly stick.
You really can't please women.
Be a gentleman and you are trying to 'play' them.
Treat them with contempt and you are a 'dog'.
Ignore them and you are full of yourself.
For that reason I was not surprised by the reaction to Tango's interview because the truth is most women don't know how to be happy. They don't know how to receive a 'brotha' with confidence and focus so they dabble in insults and criticism.
It explains why women with severe mental problems fall for guys like Chance and Whiteboy. That shit happens because the expectations are low and those guys are a dime a dozen.
But what's worse is the criticism directed to the ladies who 'get it'; like DC Livers, the person interviewing Tango on the podcast we linked yesterday.
"It was amazing how quickly people found out about the interview and how intensely they reacted" said the Managing Editor for the Historical Black Press Foundation and Black Press Magazine.
On messageboards and on this site (Mysty, is this you?) she was described as "about to have an orgasm" the way she fawned over Tango, but DC says "...he was a challenging interview and at times I got caught up in the moment. It just shows you that reporters are people too"
Moving away from that drama, BlackPressRadio deserves your attention. It's mission is to change the way Black readers and listeners get their news (Oh Snap, no more National Enquirer?)
As Livers wrote, "I hope that our project provides an answer and outlet for people who want to hear Black radio news"
I hope so too...
Laterz.
(Mysty; DC said "I was not rude to Boris." And she was close to taking her shoes off for you until I intervened.)
