Interview with Tango from I Love New York

As told and written by Mz Bootee...

Last Saturday, I called Tango and got his voice-mail, but my plan to call back was scuppered by my having to take my daughter to the Hospital later that night.
So, I left it 'til Monday to let Tango know I'd call him after Episode 3 aired and why I didn't (call) on Saturday or Sunday.

Monday after Episode 3...
"Hello, Tango?" "This is Boo-Tee. Are you ready for me?" (smiling the whole time)
(I hear his breath before he speaks)
"Well actually I just stepped out the shower, can you give me a few an call right back?"
"Of course I will"
(I hung up and thought how tantalizing his body must look, wet)

I called about 45 minutes later to give this man good prep time to get ready for me.
(it's ringing)
(deep exhale)

"Hello!?"
"Hi, it's (name called)" "So, uhmmm, how are you and how was your day today?"
"I'm good, how are you and how's your daughter first and foremost" (how nice...how many celebrities do you know, that will ask you that?)

I replied, telling him about the situation with her and we chit-chatted a bit.

"So you're a Leo, huh?"
"Yes or so I've been told. My birthday is July 30th and I've been told that I'm between the sign of Cancer and Leo. But I am a Leo! Also, can you let it be known that I love what you guys are doing on The Blogspot. I love the forum and the way you guys disclose everything...it's nice; keep doing what you're doing!

"Do you like the way the show is being edited, as far as your appearance on the show?"
"Yes, I am actually pleased with how they're editing the show. They're portraying me to a tee (even his puns are smart)
However there are some things that are totally left out that leaves some people wondering how and why some things happened the way they did."

(Thinking VH1 appears to be chopping the hell out of the show)

"What really happened with you and White Boy that caused him to go off on you for checking on Pootie?"
"Well first, let me say that there was some tension already in the house between he and I over some silly nonsense. A few days before the presentation to New York, I was telling a few of the house-mates about how I handle my business and that I'm already established with my music and all..."

"...basically making general conversation, because some of us were talking. Some of those people took it upon themselves to tell White Boy and he interpreted it as though I was talking about him."

(of course! The man has 2 or 3 CDs out; {Tango & Cash to name one} and has appeared on some established artiste's songs)

Tango then stated that he honestly doesn't care for White Boy at all; partly because he would walk around the house addressing some people with the "incorrect term"
Tango said he didn't care "HOW HOOD OR BLACK" White Boy thought...thinks he is, but "some words or terms you just don't say to people (particularly blacks)"

He said White Boy felt as if Tango should have left Pootie to do whatever it was he was going to do, possibly for good TV; and White Boy felt as if Tango was helping out to 'get camera time'
Tango wanted it known (for our readers) that he is exactly the way he has been portrayed on the show and he said that he is not one for the cameras and that he didn't "give a damn about the cameras being there, because he came there to be himself and not a character."

"If I saw someone in danger or needed help I'm going to do my best to help them to avoid a violent situation. Any real person would do that whether you're a thug or no thug...forget the whole 'thug image'; I'm Tango and I'm real...and that's not to say that a few of the others weren't."

He stated that what we did not see was the part when he called back up the stairs for help (before Pootie threw himself down the stairs)...White Boy was making gestures and comments to leave Pootie alone.
Tango said that Pootie literally threw himself down the stairs however he caught him by the arm so that Pootie slid instead of tumbling; and he would have really injured himself.
He told me to be sure to put this out there.

"Don't get it twisted, I don't want people to think that Pootie and I were friends because we weren't. However I was not going to see another man bring himself down and hurt himself! I also want people to know that Pootie really has gone through a lot and I don't want people to think that he is totally crazy but that man has gone through a lot!"

(Now that is a real man with real words...Wow!)

He stressed that they (Pootie and himself) were cordial with each other but did not really get along.



The argument and fight with White Boy:
Tango says that were it not only for Chance; but Rico, Bonez and Real holding him from the waist (Chance held his arm) he would've showed White Boy what real "HOOD" is; and tore his ass up.
(fyi Tango competes in Karate tournaments and if anyone knows anything about Karate; the 1st thing you are taught is to be humble and avoid fights unless you truly have to defend yourself, because you can seriously hurt someone)

Tango also said he was conscious that he had lost a friend...and besides if White Boy really wanted to fight me? His 140lb body could've jumped over the seats and came in the back.
(At this point he and I are both laughing)

(But it was time to get serious again)
"The jewelery?"
Tango stressed, that his jewelery is REAL and NOT at all "cubic zirconia" as Omarosa stated. He said he was going to post his receipt on his MySpace.."but why, you know?
"I have nothing to prove to anybody because we will come to know the truth about everybody."

"Now, what didn't we see during the massage?"
"Of course the guys were all hanging out together and I took the opportunity to massage her and she was feeling me at that point. Of course they were jealous but I'm there to meet HER not the other guys."

(That's what the show is about...but what I wouldn't give to have those hands on "my neck, my back" right about now, lol. And Leos love attention...so any opportunity he gets he might take {wink})

"May I ask how you got along with the other guys?"
"Yeah. I was cordial but I truly got along the best with Mr. Boston (and yes he really does talk that way) Rico and Onix.
Mr. Boston was one of the realest guys there and not for TV."

He said Pootie seemed to be obsessed with washing the dishes and now we know why he was; because of his emotional state. He (Tango) slept in the room with 8 other people.
I asked about the guys described as "overly neat freaks" as mentioned in an earlier interview with Onix. Tango stated "I wouldn't call it being a neat freak, but listen, I live by myself and I keep my house clean and I was brought up that way; and being in a house with other guys I would find myself putting on gloves and a face mask to pick up some of the other guys belongings...nasty ass underwear hanging everywhere. Look, we were living in close quarters and I wasn't about to live like that because we were in a mansion. Of course those things won't be aired."

(Is it me or does this bring a flash-back of Deelishis cleaning the room that she and New York shared?)

Sister Patterson:

"I know some of you wanted to know about Sister Patterson and if it’s all an act?"
"I want your readers to know that Sister Patterson, first and foremost, is one of the sweetest people you'll meet and she has a really warm heart. Now she is straight-forward and to the point! Whatever she thinks or feels she'll let you know upfront, but if she likes you, she likes you...and will do almost anything to help you out. Unfortunately they don't air those things on the show."

New York's breast enlargement:
You know I had to ask his view on New York's new endowment?

"Hey let me say this when I was told about the pics of her new enhancement, I didn't really think too much of it until I saw a pic of it myself and I was like "WOW!".
I must say that I'm a butt guy (that was nice to hear, knowing that he was talking to Ms Boo-Tee with a real booty, lol) however at the end of the day if that makes her happy then I'm happy." (hmmmmmn)

Are we finished yet:
At this point I was sooooo impressed with the sincerity of Tango that I asked him if there were things about him that he wants our readers to know?

I asked him about his clothes and he stated that 90% of the clothes he wears are made by his older brother and that we will RARELY see him wear the same outfit twice. Tango stated that he has 2 brothers (the older brother that makes the clothes) and a younger brother and reiterated that his sincerity and his actions are all him and NOT for the camera. "I was there to meet Tiffany Pollard not New York and I wasn't there to make an acting career"





Well this is the end of my interview. I hope it wasn't bad for my very 1st interview ever!!!
BUT WAIT … I RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM TANGO THE NEXT DAY
