the_enteratiner_sucksWtf?
The Entertainer (I Love New York) was interviewed by Rich of the VH1 blog and this is an excerpt.

She called you a “loser” before she eliminated you. Did that hurt your feelings?

Absolutely not. People try to hurt my feelings and knock me down all of the time. I laugh at those people.
You know, I don’t have the greatest job in the world, I work for UPS and to be honest I don’t even work for them anymore. I ended up leaving them because they wouldn’t give me a truck because I was on the I Love New York show and it was just a whole bunch of drama at work, so I just decided to leave there. Right now, I’m actually delivering pizza.

You can tell I have no shame. I could tell the whole world that I’m delivering pizza and I could care less if people make fun of me. I’m my own person and I’m gonna do whatever I want, that’s how I’ve always been. My whole life’s been like this, I never had money so, I could care less, it’s not a big deal. And I’ve always been a happy person so, you know, it doesn’t matter to me.

Dang, I kinda like the bloke's attitude after reading that.

The entertainer is probably getting his own show. VH-1 was filming at his house this past weekend, so it could either be used for the Reunion show, or as a test focal group for a spin off show about him and his family. He's trying to drum up support by having people express their want to see him and his family with their own show. You can go to his MYspace Page and get the info.

aye, thanks for that. It might not be that bad of a show.

    You do?

  7. Anonymous // 6/12/07 12:15 PM

Yes, it was honest Steups LOL.

I actually find Punk to be the most down to earth and nicest on the show, but the entertainer the most....entertaining. ;)

"Dang, I kinda like the bloke's attitude after reading that"

    I certainly don't.

Can't respect a grown ass man who is "happy" to live in his Mama's House and deliver pizzas

He IS a loser. Well done NY for calling a spade a spade...

  9. Anonymous // 6/12/07 12:16 PM

Dana...you have become Anglicised. You know that obtains in Trinidad.

Hey I love my Mama to bits, but I moved out for UWI and never moved back in. And even then I thought that after 30 it was quite pitiful to live at home (my age limit has come down considerably since moving here but I won't post it because I don't want to offend). I'm not saying he has to purchase a house or flat. But damn ... rent your own space man.

    Anyway, I depart...

Think about what number you want to pick tomorrow, Nick

    Dana~

I adore you. However your comment earlier caught me off guard.

People who deliver pizzas aren't losers. Janitors are not losers. Cashiers are not losers.

They are individuals who have gotten a job. It may not be a job up to individuals' high standards. However it is a legal, honest job.

He leaves with his parents at 25. I also see nothing wrong with this. UPS, pizza or whatever other legal job a person has, I don't call them losers.

Ivy league graduates who are wife beaters are losers. Politicians who know damn well they are gay but have wife & kids are losers.

One's education or having an upwardly mobile career doesn't make them winners in my mind.

And I applaud him for being happy with who he is. Too many people live by other standards.

It was a good interview. Thanks for the post Steups.

  16. Anonymous // 6/12/07 1:18 PM

Amen Q... I couldnt have said it better myself....

He's an honest guy and that definitely does not make him a loser... It takes a strong man to say this is who I am either accept me or don't but either way it's not my problem...

  17. The Q © 2010 // 6/12/07 1:30 PM

He lives with his parents at 25.*

    My proofreading and typing sucks.

We agree Anon @ 1:18PM. Have a good day!

  18. ShakazP // 6/12/07 1:38 PM

Bless you, Q, I was just thinking that.

  19. The Q © 2010 // 6/12/07 1:43 PM

    LOL @ ShakaZP

    How are you?

  20. Anonymous // 6/12/07 3:16 PM

That was a good interview. I have to agree with Q...having a legal, honest job, whether it be trading stocks or sweeping floors, is something to be proud of. And my peeps up north in the New York/New Jersey area...it's HARD to get yourself going up there. Trust. Jobs that pay close to the cost of living are hard to come by, rent is outrageous, and buying a decent condo or house for under $400,000? FORGET IT. That sucks about UPS though, that is a great job to have...the pay is great and it's a union job. Miss NY ain't worth losing a job like that.

That makes me wonder if these guys(and girls) that go on these types of shows think about what happens after the show wraps and real life begins again. Jobs, bills, commitments...none of this pauses while you're on the show. Not to mention all of the "fame" that may or may not come afterwards. Just some food for thought...

Reality shows have damaged many a career or job opportunities.

    Great comment Purple Mist!

New post up for those who care....

  22. Anonymous // 6/12/07 3:54 PM

I wonder if The Entertainer will bring up who told him that Pretty might be gay because he checked him out. The Entertainer elludes to it being someone that Pretty is real close with NOW. At the time this was brought up and Tailor Snitch told NY; Buddha had just left the house. The Entertainer said that the person HAD been eliminated. The people that Pretty was closest to, were Buddha, Mr. Wise and Punk. Well...Mr. Wise and Punk were still there. I don't think Punk is still close to Pretty anymore because of the whole comment that Pretty acted like he had something to hide. So, that leaves the always "eloquent" Buddha.

The Entertainer said in his interview that Pretty would be surprised to know who said it. He also said that if it was brought up at the reuinion that if the person wasn't man enough to admit it, he would tell Pretty. I so hope that this will be brought up. I want to see Buddha get all philosophical on our asses on why he said what he said.

In relation to the ILNY franchises...I do know that Onix's career hasn't been ruined by his appearance on the show. He is working for a Fortune 500 company here in the DC Metro area. Also, Bonez is still doing his acting thang.

    well who left b4 buddha?
    cheezy and man man?

yeah i can see cheezy saying it...man man didn't look like a drama queen and i doubt buddha said it cuz he knew about wise getting in the fight w/ TM, so he would of knew about the gay rumors also, and i think he even tho he is a BITCH, he is man enough to apologize to deframing someone's character if he would do to, which i doubt. so it's CHEEZY..who wants to take bets?

  31. Dana - W for Whatever // 7/12/07 3:04 AM

The great thing about this blog is that people are free to express their own opinion.

There is no "right" and "wrong". There are things the way I see them and things the way you see them and I am entitled to my opinion whether or not you agree with it and I stand by my statement(s), whether politically correct or nicey-nice or not. It's just in black and white how I feel and I am allowed to feel that way.

All the people you listed are just bigger losers.

  32. TNS™ // 7/12/07 12:28 PM

I am from the NJ/NY area and have family that live in Rockland County where The Entertainer lives ...it is ridiculously EXPENSIVE to live there. I did not move out of my mother's house for good until I went away to grad school at the age of 26. I am far from a loser! I worked my behind off and with a Bachelor's degree had a hard time finding a job that paid well enough for me to move out!
I know many people who have college degrees and make $40,000 + live with their parents until they can save for a house. Unless you have lived in the NY/NJ area, you may not be aware of the standard of living. Some people make $8-9/hr and rent is cheap if it's $800-850 for a 1 bedroom. I know people who have either an apartment OR a car because they can't afford both and make $15-17/hr.
The Entertainer was doing well for himself if he worked at UPS because they have crazy benefits and there is a lot of room for advancement. At least he got another job right away instead of collecting unemployment. At least he works an honest job instead of having a much more lucrative career like selling drugs! lol
I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I mean no disrespect. I just wish people's opinions were more informed. There are very few things in life that are black and white and there are always exceptions to the rule.
Sorry for writing a novel! lmao

  33. Anonymous // 7/12/07 1:04 PM

I can't speak for Dana, but Mysty, I don't think she was referring to people like you. You were in college and trying to improve upon yourself. I was the one that posted the entertainers info yesterday about trying to get a reality show. I don't think he's a loser either, just not motivated enough (at the time). Some people just need a little more prodding and time to get themselves together. Even he admitted that he needed to use his potential more, and maybe now he can do that. I think this show was actually an eye opener to him, because it allowed him to view how his parents were really feeling about this situation with him at the time. He'll do better. ;)

I was fortunate enough to be able to put myself through college and have my own place. That's only because the cost of living is so much cheaper where I lived. I applaud those that want to do better and are trying to obtain a goal (own a house, education). As long as that person is being respectful to their parents home and is doing something with themselves, I see nothing wrong with parents helping their kids out. Help them out now; you don't have to worry about them coming back later.

  34. Anonymous // 7/12/07 1:08 PM

I think to refer to a person as a loser based upon their current job or career is shallow & short sighted. I guess Rosa Parks was a loser. She wasn't an upwardly mobile individual. I guess Sidney Poitier is a loser because he has no formal education. Let us not forget Jesus, he was a carpenter. I guess he was a loser too. I guess the countless disadvantage individuals around the world who clean for a living or have no career opportunties are losers too. It always amazes me how some of those with an education stick their noses up in the air with their superiority bullshit. Yet they see nothing as if all those papers and research have blinded them to life. The Entertainer may or may not be a loser. I don't believe him to be a loser based on his job as a pizza delivery person. Your right we can all share our opinions here. What a super blog! To commenter above me, you can't speak for her nor can I. She clearly thinks persons who do certain types of work are losers.

  35. TNS™ // 7/12/07 1:30 PM

Thanks to both Anons, but I don't think myself or anyone else who goes to college is better. I was merely making the point that even people with formal educations have difficulty finding jobs that make a living wage in NY/NJ. My sister does not yet have her associate's degree, but she makes over $100,000/yr. She lived home until 25.
I don't think anyone can be seen as a loser based on how much money they make or type of job. Every job has to be done in order for society to function. I'm sure a pizza delivery guy is not a LOSER when he delivers your pizza for you when you don't feel like cooking or going out in the rain!lol
I have worked and gone to school with people of all different socioeconomic backgrounds and the only people I have considered losers were those with crappy attitudes about themselves and others. But that's my opinion.

  36. Anonymous // 7/12/07 1:59 PM

-Thanks to both Anons, but I don't think myself or anyone else who goes to college is better.

Mysty your point was taken. We agree. I understood you completely. My comment was directed to Dana. I am college educated. My education doesn't make me not a loser. It is an opportunity afforded to me by those before me who performed 'service oriented jobs'. I know those individuals worked hard. Those 'losers' sacrificed so I could have opportunities.

Now where in my posts did I say anything about a College Degree or Education or how much money somebody makes etc?

Goddamn, don't put words in my mouth (or on my keyboard)

I have no idea what type of Education the Entertainer has. All I know is that HE IS CONTENT to stay where he is, not trying to DO BETTER and that to me makes him a loser.

  40. Anonymous // 8/12/07 2:52 PM

its apparent that most of posters here dont have an education and are a tad bit defensive, eh?

    Trini ELITISM BULLSHIT

  43. Anonymous // 9/12/07 11:21 PM

We try to do be better so we are labeled elitists? Its so apparent that the regular (content and happy) bloggers here did not complete a higher education and its a very sore point for them.

  44. Anonymous // 10/12/07 5:27 AM

Higher education or not many of the regular bloggers' attitudes come across as elitists. One shows their character and judgemental ways by assuming those who disagree with you must not be striving to do better. I have two degrees. I disagree with calling someone a loser based on their performing certain jobs. No sore spot here, I just disagree with a comment made. I am sharing my point of view. I hope everyone has a blessed day.

  47. TNS™ // 10/12/07 6:48 PM

I was referring to The Entertainer being labeled a loser for living with his parents and delivering pizza...I disagree, I'm allowed to.
For the anon that felt the need to question people's education, I have a bachelor's degree and will complete my 2nd Master's program in June...what does that have to do with the comment about T.E.? Know what you are talking about, I'm not defensive because I lack education. I have never worked for UPS or delivered pizza, but that doesn't mean I have to look down on someone who does. Everyone's life circumstances are different, not everyone has the same opportunities. I think it's wrong to judge someone based on their occupation, and if he is happy, more power to him for enjoying his life. There are enough bitter people in the world already. In the article he mentions that he knows he can do better, that doesn't mean he has to be miserable now.

  48. The Q © 2010 // 10/12/07 8:50 PM

I have ZERO degrees. I've made it clear on The ELLE Word I am a college drop out.
