Aisha Raison clued me in to this AOL Black Voices interview with Tango (I Love New York)
One of the questions asked of Tango was debated on Elle Word Radio yesterday...

How much of 'I Love New York' is real and how much is
scripted?
Man, that's really hard to say. People use the word
"scripted" as if parts were drawn out. In actuality, the only thing that was scripted was the setting. The only scripted part of the show was the house and the 19 guys going for one girl . To be honest with you, this cast, the guys I was with, that was very, very real. If I had to give a percentage, that show was 85 percent real.

This is going to sound arrogant and I can only speak for myself
but I was probably the realest part of the show. I'm just a normal guy. I'm not an actor. Ninety percent of the guys on the show were actors. They sent a casting tape. I don't have a casting tape

For that reason I was not surprised by the reaction to Tango's interview because the truth is most women don't know how to be happy. They don't know how to receive a 'brotha' with confidence and focus so they dabble in insults and criticism.
It explains why women with severe mental problems fall for guys like Chance and Whiteboy. That shit happens because the expectations are low and those guys are a dime a dozen.

But what's worse is the criticism directed to the ladies who 'get it'; like DC Livers, the person interviewing Tango on the podcast we linked yesterday.
"It was amazing how quickly people found out about the interview and how intensely they reacted" said the Managing Editor for the Historical Black Press Foundation and Black Press Magazine.

On messageboards and on this site (Mysty, is this you?) she was described as "about to have an orgasm" the way she fawned over Tango, but DC says "...he was a challenging interview and at times I got caught up in the moment. It just shows you that reporters are people too"

Moving away from that drama, BlackPressRadio deserves your attention. It's mission is to change the way Black readers and listeners get their news (Oh Snap, no more National Enquirer?)
As Livers wrote, "I hope that our project provides an answer and outlet for people who want to hear Black radio news"

In his first interview since the I Love New York Reunion Show, Tango spoke exclusively, to DC Livers, Managing Editor of the Historical Black Press Foundation.
Tango bares it all and in true Tango fashion, casts himself in the best possible light.

The interview is almost 33 minutes so some of you may be put off by that...but if you make the effort to listen you'll hear him say:

1. he has absolutely no love for New York
2. unnamed people (VH1 producers perhaps?) encouraged him to propose
3. the beef with Chance and Real was genuine
4. he will soon launch a clothing line called "Tan-line"
5. he'll have a reality show of his own and Mr. Boston will guest star

And that's just the appetizer. He describes New York as having a split personality and reiterates the reason he dumped her on the Reunion Show.
It rings untrue to me, and especially so when you appreciate this reality Show of his was rumored long before he made an appearance on the I Love New York Reunion Show.

Part One: DJ Backside brings us a Tango video interview with an hip hop flava. *coughs We discover (as if we already didn't know) his government name, Patrick Hunter. Which he admits sounds like a soap opera. Another fact given to us is he's New Yorker by birth but raised Floridan.

When asked if the real Tango was potrayed on ' I Love New York'. He replies basically an aspect of him was shown. Thinking ...there's only so much one can learn about someone in three weeks, even with cameras filming 24/7. We find out why he wears his hat extra tilted to side.

Part Two: OMG....This part is about New York. And he speaks of respecting her a little for going for what she wants hard. He speaks of knowing females such as her who have been done wrong. New York being done wrong on national television *coughs twice. They touch on her implants. He doesn't think she needed them but at the end of the day it's about what makes her happy. He not a breast man. They touch on New York's bedroom skills ....looooonnng pause. DJ Backside asks has he thought about building a family with her. He states that the two of them are at the beginning of the relationship. He is then asked how is a marriage the beginning. ( Standing ovation for DJ Backside!). Tango stresses how he goes into things with his heart. And that he wanted to show New York his level of dedication.

Part Three: They touch on the guys in the house. His main boys are Onix, Rico and Mr. Boston. He mentions he doesn't like 12 Pack and thinks he's gay. ( 12 Pack no likey, likey that!) Chance is mentioned and the fact that they didn't fight. Tango says the laws of physics makes impossible for Chance to win the fight. ( I know Chance had more of a chance of kick ing Tango's @ss than the d@mned banana tree's.)

When it's all typed and done. Tango won at that's the bottom line. (Oh, and my apologies on the coughing. I am coming down with a cold.)

No need for me to ad my piece because the Tan-man said it all...

So, what's the final verdict on Chance? Is he real or fake?

He is as fake as they come. I've never met any thugs that lived on horse ranches. I was a little thrown by that. I don't know how exactly where the thugging begins on a horse ranch. He was misrepresenting what he was. He used the word "thug," but really he was just throwing tantrums. I mean, he'd get pissed at something and he'd go bonkers. That's totally different from being a thug, you know? There's no place for thugs on reality television, in my opinion, so I mean the final verdict from me is, he should have taken the money. His brother got the wrong name as well. Real's as fake as they come. And Whiteboy is as fake as they come. They were the fakest guys on the show.

I know some of you have been throwing up that green stuff (envy vomit) all night speculating and praying for a quick end to the Tango-New York love affair.
Well guess what, it ain't gonna happen...

When you, New York and your mothers went out to lunch, New York was pretty disrespectful to your mother…

(Laughs) To say the least. That was the first time that New York went too far for me. New York was saying things that I'd never say around my mom. But I just sort of sat back to let my mom take it in. My mom needs no defending whatsoever. She's a very strong woman. She knew what was going on. So I kept cool to let my mom see how New York really is, to see what she would possibly have to deal with. But at the same time, I saw a side of New York that I did not like. She knows that and she's apologized for it. She knows that that's something that just isn't going to work. I was appalled and disgusted by the comments New York and her mother made during the show that I only found out about after, when it aired. But she apologized for that, too. People make mistakes, so I'm cool with that. My mother works with families that need assistance and she deals with outrageous people on a regular basis. So what she saw was nothing. Plus, when I was a kid, she always taught me about sticks and stones, so that situation was reversed: if someone says something about you, big deal. Especially if it's not true.
