Peaches, if you are unaware is a recording artist of some repute and is a featured vocalist for George Clinton and the Parliament-Funk All-stars.
Judging by the age of the readers of this blog they probably believe that group was formed by the former President, but it is actually a group that pioneered funk music and has influenced the likes of Prince and Rick James.
Peaches and The All-Stars are currently on tour promoting their album "How late do you Have 2bb4ur absent" and will be leaving on June 29th for a month-long tour of Europe. Parallel to her pursuits with the band, Kim released a solo album "The Love and Light Activation", which according to her
"is a fusion of Rock, Reggae, Funk and Jazz all wrapped up in a 'poppy sound' -it features George Clinton, the P-funk allstars, Norwood Fisher (Bass player for Fishbone), Eric Mcfadden and Wally Ingram."
The album was produced by Brian Kehew who co-produced Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine. She has plans to promote it and appears in a movie titled "Room 33", but I'll update you on that later because I know you want to read her thoughts on Flavor of Love.
How has Flavor of Love impacted her:
"It's brought me a lot of 'MySpace' friends and people at P-funk shows are always chanting 'Peaches' now. Peaches is a great name- (even) some of my closest friends call me peaches. As a result of it (the show) we (the flavoroflove girls) will be in 'Details Magazine' and I'll be in 'HighTimes' in June and possibly in the future."
Any regrets?:
"No not at all, I wish they would have shown me doing yoga in my bikini or starting a fire in the kitchen though. You know I'm a pretty peace-and-love person and I guess peace and love is not what reality tv exploits"
Would you do another show?:
"I would love to do 'The Amazing race',that would be fun; or 'Rockstar', although I'm pretty much already a rockstar, but it would be nice to be bigger."
Do you keep in touch with the other Flavor of Love Girls?:
"Oh yeah, I keep in touch with Pumkin, Georgia, Sweetie, Smiley, Goldie, and Red Oyster a bit. I really like Dimples too."
What about New York and Hoopz?:
"I love Hoopz, she's totally cool. And I'm okay with New York. One day we (New York and I) were chatting and she was like "Kim, I'm glad there are you hippies out there, they keep the rest of us from using up the world too fast". So she's got a heart somewhere below all that hurt."
Interesting comment on New York don't you think.
I exchanged email with Sweetie yesterday and I'll update you on that, but only after I call her and get answers to some important questions.
Bye.
I think Peaches explained it well, New York's over the top reactions were caused more by hurt than her being a bitch.
ReplyDeleteAnd you can type bitch by the way, I do it all the time. Bitch bitch bitch. Seee, no one struck me with lightning or anything.
Maybe she realised the other girls were against her and making snide remarks from the onset and she said 'fuck em' if they want to treat me like shit I'll treat them the same.
