Leilene made the rounds today, appearing on 'Hot97 with Miss Jones' and 'The Wendy Williams Experience', and both hosts went out of their way to suggest Leilene is the winner of Charm School.Word is Leilene neither confirmed nor denied, so you guys have to wait just like everyone else.
Regarding the interview itself, she repeated all of what she said to Gabrielle during her time on The Elle Word Show; so you missed nothing.
But, now that we have brought up the subject, The Elle Word Show returns tomorrow with a program after lunch. Somethin' is the guest and she is mad upset at Larissa's assertion that she wanted to have relations with the Charm School star.
It's gonna be wild so expect some drama.

Hey steups - cool to see this here. Although I've been cheering for Becky since the beginning, I never thought anyone really knew why she was there ("acting black"? throwing a shoe?) and didn't think she'd actually win, so I'd be pleased with this result.

ReplyDeleteGood point. I was not aware that acting black was something to be reprimanded for. However this is something I only see from the point of view of a white girl, perhaps her actions are quite insulting to other people. I can't say how I would feel in another situation.
Although Becky's behavior has been nothing but puzzling for awhile. New York called her out when she said "All Black people are ghetto then?"
Her come and go accent is crazy too.
It would be interesting to see home movies of her when she was growing up.
The girl is an enigma.
I honestly don't get Becky, but I like her overall because she seems to have a genuinely good heart and doesn't intentionally try to cause bad blood among the girls. At this point, I couldn't care less whether her accent is "real" or not.
ReplyDeleteLike you said, I suppose I might find the whole issue more intriguing and pertinent if I were black and felt as if she were mocking my culture, but my personal feeling on that is that I very highly doubt she means any harm by it. She seems like a happy-go-lucky girl who maybe just took a joke a bit too far, and I'm willing to leave it at that.
I also think Leilene seems like a genuinely good person overall, although I'm confused at times if she's proud of the "stripper" image or trying to shed it.

She does seem like one of the nicer, cooler females in the house, but that act is condescending as it gets. What makes it worst is that she thinks it is cute. I doubt she is racist, just sorely misguided.
